In my effort to engage in different creative endeavors, I started to make these add and returns. They’re slightly different from the usual add and passes, because I supply some of the materials and you just send it back to me. I’m not the biggest fan of add and passes because I’m never sure what to do with them. I’ve sent out ten or so of these packets and I just got the first one back from the wonderful Michael Orr in Georgia. It looks great. He made it into a folding card. Can’t wait to see what else shows up.

Last year for the release of the last Nostrils record, Misty and I did a video for one of the songs. The song was “I Am the Batman,” which was inspired by a visit from some unfriendly bats in our apartment. I put up the video and then moved it around to friends and what not. Everyone seemed to get a laugh out of it and we really liked what we made, so success! One of my favorite mail-artists Carina Granlund in Finland, honored that video and especially the image of the paper bat by making a hand carved rubber stamp from the image. Such a cool thing. Misty was especially excited considering that she drew the bat. Nostrils super fans in Finland, such a fun sentence.

Two weeks ago I found a South Carolina postcard set. Normally I buy these and put my collages on the other side, but this time I thought to myself, “How can I take down SC with this postcard collection?” My answer, since I’ve disliked SC since the first time I went there, was to spell out my anger in colorful letters. Here is the whole collection that I’ve sent to friends and family that have been effected by this “so called Carolina.”
